D&D last night

At the end of the strange catacombs where our heroes were trying to find their way was a large cave where a hydra was guarding the valuables that they were supposed to collect for Hoge Jan. Though Paythan and Ulfgar did think it was a very good idea to attack the monster, and Fabi was thinking of ways to bedazzle the creature with magic to avoid confrontation, Yng became impatient and simply attacked.

The monster had very long necks and its heads soared downwards to bite any of the heroes who charged it. Yng attacked it with searing rays of fire and Paythan took to his longbow. Ulfgar was the first of the heroes to bravely engage the hydra, ad he paid the price: after four of the head had taken fierce bites out of his splint mail, he was hit by the humongous tail and thrown backwards.

Meanwhile Fabi was trying his magic on the monster, but was having a very foul day indeed; none of his spells worked the way they were supposed to and this really ruined the poor bard's mood. After hitting the hydra straight between his necks with a well-aimed arrow, Paythan pulled out his magical sword and teleported right next to the monster.

Even Doctor Melvin joined the fray, though he wasn't used to melee combat. Together, our heroes vanquished the huge hydra and started rounding up the spoils of their adventure. The bookshelves revealed several magical books, on the desk was a magical ruler and on the bed was a magical pillow. After thoroughly searching the cave, Yng found a well-hidden box containing a magical elven circlet. And Paythan's magical sword detected a strange portal to another world nearby the cave.

The heroes returned to Hoge Jan, who promised to buy some of the things they found. Our story will continue in two weeks.

Some pictures from a mars probe look like rocks in the sand, or skulls with two eyes. Personally I find it hard to believe that extraterrestrial life forms would have one head and two eyes just like us. Follow this link to read a hilarious conversation between two aliens, stumbling upon earth.
